The Best: Cobbler Caballero

His name is Ruben Andres Miranda and he is the Cobbler.

His store is in Kings Cross, just down from the infamous Strip and conveniently close to the station. Cobbler Caballero is the realization of my architect brother and my Dad. After working for other people my dad decided he wanted to go into specialized business of his own. My brother  and a couple of his extremely talented fellow architects created the most impressive cobbler store I have ever seen.

Now my dad runs his own shop, and is doing pretty ace for himself.

So if you need shoes fixed, heels re-made, shoes stretched, resoled, polished, waxed, sewed, leather soled, patched, or totally over-hauled – he is the man for the job.

I have brought many a pair to him to fix, and I have seen gorgeous Christian Louboutin, YSL, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada shoes walk in and out. Each time, a million times better than the way they came in. Although like my Dad says, when it comes to shoes it doesn’t matter what brand they are or what quality – if you love a pair of shoes they are worth saving. And he really is very VERY good.

So come visit him, you will thank me later.
